Have you ever been trying to figure out what is wrong with your poorly Atari ST? Chances are that you will have gone onto the internet and found the wonderful service guides written in the last 80’s to help you.

Unfortunately a lot of their procedures refer to a mysterious “Diagnostic Cartridge” and those are a little thin on the ground! See the service MANUALS page here! (opens in new window).

I have taken this project to fill the gap, and while there are other cartridges available that fill the role, this one is a little different. This is because its not only a diagnostic tool, but a PCB ready for the budding Atari ST experimenter who wishes to interface their ST with all manner of things.

All the pins you need to start tinkering with the world of interface electronics are available to you!

As you can see the board contains two un-populated ROM slots as well these are there so that you can experiment programming your own ROMS and firmware to use in your ST, its totally possible to make you own home-brew game cartridge!

For me, I am going to see if I can hook up some moder micro-controllers to give my humble ST a few useful features like real time clock and perhaps a temperature sensor!

PLEASE INSERT BACKOFFICE LOGO UP! - We will accept no liability for damage caused my misuse of this device nor accept a damaged return if its inserted into your ST incorrectly. We can identify this from PCB or damaged EPROMS.
